Six Dimension Formula

Via Wang...

First off I must apologize --- as I'm sure half of this post is incorrect --- but I'll do my best.

Back in 1999 there was a band called Six Dimension Formula - made up of 4 Fieldston students and 2 Trevor Day students. After a few years of performing around NYC's top indie venues and a couple changes to the band's lineup they got signed to DFA's label and released an album under the name Automato.

Automato's first album was released to critical acclaim in the UK but was generally panned in the states. Eventually the group members went their own ways - leaving all of us with a love for electro-white boy-upper west side - hip hop very sad.

The point of this is that the original band contained some of today's hottest artists --- including both Nick and Alex of Holy Ghost!, Ben Grubin of Hockey, and Andrew Raposo from Hercules and Love Affair. Not bad huh?

Here is a track from their pre-Automato post original 6DF lineup demo which eventually got them linked up those DFA dudes.
