Let 'em riot. We're Sonic-fuckin'-Death Monkey.

Maybe it was because I was the first of my friends with a CD burner. Maybe it was because I quickly became obsessed with Nick Hornby and High Fidelity.

I make mix CDs for girls.

My "opposite sex mix CD" has about 10 songs that are on every single one. The 5 or 6 others were - you know - hip songs of that specific day - to demonstrate I'm cool. One of the songs that was always featured on my mixes was a song by Bright Eyes called "The First Day of My Life". I am a sentimental person and this song was my power move. She had to love me now.

The other day my friend Jake sent me this video not knowing any of this....and i guess he shares my sentimentality...
