Via Refinery 29:
Since its beginnings, American Apparel's ads, often shot by CEO Dov Charney, have oft flirted with the idea of nakedness—very very young girls revealing their impressive flexibility in leotards, exulting the return of Short Shorts, or occupying second-hand couches wearing panties, come-hither looks, and little else. Somehow, Charney's ads, which double as cheeky send ups of exploitation chic and clear examples of actual exploitation, have become targets for post-Feminist love and ire.
Further, the new American Apparel ads feature professional porn performers Sasha Grey (20) and Charlotte Stokely (22).
Displayed only on Debauchette and the Reverse Cowgirl, the ads kind of seem like preaching to that particular choir that thinks porn is more of a lifestyle pose than a way to make money (we don't imagine that anyone who reads those blogs doesn't already appreciate crotch shots and leggings). Still, we give them credit for trying—it ain't easy trying to sell socks.

I mean I've always been one to think guns were cool, tattoos were bad ass, and scandalously clad woman were sexy...and sexy ain't bad right? right?!
